Lavender Fun Facts
The name lavender comes from the Latin verb, “lavare,” which means to wash. Lavender is part of the mint family. In the Elizabethan times, when baths weren’t common practice, lavender was used to perfume clothes and bed linen. Lavender is often used to soothe headaches, insect bites, burns, acne, muscle pain and relieve insomnia. Lavender is an edible herb and is used to season a wide variety of sweet and savory dishes.
